For the Brownie Layer:

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.

Mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla for the brownie layer in a bowl. Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan.

Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for the cookie layer until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well. Gradually blend in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie layer, and gently spread to cover.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
