It’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m Mary Elizabeth. Or M.E. (pronounced Emmy like the awards.) I’m a self/family/experience-taught baker turned professional baker, wedding cake maker, and blogger.
I grew up being taught the importance of from scratch, homemade pie. Buying pie crust from the grocery store was equivalent to spitting on the family name. To this day, my family has more pies than people at Thanksgiving dinner—all from scratch, of course. As a young girl, I spent my babysitting money on my own set of cake pans. Fun fact, I still use those same cake pans today! I baked nearly every Sunday growing up. When I was 15 years old, I made my first wedding cake and the rest is history.
I currently reside in Utah, where I was born and raised. I’m really at home when I’m in Utah or Massachusetts, specifically Cape Cod or Christmas Meadows.
